Photography heroes
This is my powerpoint on three of my photography heroes. Ansel Adams, Nadav Kander and Mrya Greene. Underneath are the notes on each of the photographers I chose.
Exhibition leaflet
Our task is to create a hypothetical exhibition leaflet, including three different artists of out choice, a general theme and a location at which to hold the exhibition. As shown below:
My theme is 'The beauty in destruction' and I decided to choose the photographers Sebastiao Salgado, Ansel Adams and Edward Burtynsky. I also looked at Nadav Kander and Marcus Lyon.
I decided to use these three artists because as I found combining their works best illustrated the stages of how human life can have a huge impact on the environment. All their work shows the beauty in nature but with the underlying message of the destruction we have on the nature.
Salgado shows the beauty of a world before human life impacted, Adams shows the beauty but hints at the importance of protecting and preserving the environment and Burtynsky shows how human life has damaged the environment but in a beautiful way.
I chose the location of the natural history museum, as I thought it is still a formal set up like a gallery to have an exhibition, and the museum itself adds to the theme beauty in destruction. As many of the museum has extinct animals in it and shows visitors life before humans, reminding them of the impact human life has had on the natural world.
